UFO Review. Without doubt!!k
Stuart:I agree that UFO Review is perhaps the best on-line 'zine for UFO material (although you do have some competition), but to me the term "publication" means an actual printed, published, hold-in-your-hands paper / journal. I guess I'm just old fashioned, but the truth is that not everyone can read stuff on the Internet, but just about everyone can subscribe to one of the four publications listed in the poll (although for Smear you have to find a way onto Jim's "non-subscriber" list). Paul
UFO Review - no contest
Stuart:I just remembered - you won a 2005 Zorgy Award for Best UFO Website (news summary) - what more do you want?? :-)See: http://redstarfilms.blogspot.com/2005/12/2005-zorgy-awards.htmlPaul
Kithra:Yes, yes, yes, UFO Review is great, but it's PRINT people, PRINT!!Argh!!! :-)PaulP.S. Seriously, thanks for stopping by!
Well, I said other, intending to cite UFO Review here in the comments. But, since you're talking about print only publications, I'll call it a toss-up between Fate and Fortean Times. FT is the better overall mag, but Fate is easier on my wallet...
AJ:I thought about adding Fate, but I don't consider it a "UFO publication" (I certainly don't think the FT is a UFO publication). That's why I left it off, but I admit that's just my opinion. Thanks for voting.Paul
I see your point about FT and Fate--I guess my preferences are for seeing the saucers as part of a spectrum of phenomena rather than something unique in and of themselves. Maybe. Or not. Who knows.
AJ:Yeah, my poll is pretty particularist. Perhaps a better question would have been "What is your favourite publication devoted to the paranormal," which certainly would have included FT and Fate. Still, the poll is the poll, so UFOs it is.If you haven't, you should check out the 2005 Zorgy Awards, at:http://redstarfilms.blogspot.com/2005/12/2005-zorgy-awards.htmlThere my picks (in conjunction with my co-judge, Rear Admiral Zorgrot) for both UFO and paranormal mags, books, webzines, etc. are listed - FT made the grade!Paul
You made some great choices for the 2005 Zorgies--I certainly agree with Project Beta as the best UFO book of the year!If someone, such as Zorgrot, were to pin me down and put a ray gun to my head to choose one UFO mag, I'd have to say Saucer Smear. Outstanding stuff.
AJ:Zorgy would never do that - he's all about peace and love.Or so he says...PK
ALTERNATE PERCEPTIONS is an awesome magazine for all things paranormal. Brent Raynes is the editor. Check it out.http://www.mysterious-america.netTony Pratt
