The Roswell slides are out now. Have your say - what do they show!
I'll leave the voting open until the end of February. If you pick "something else," please leave a comment with what you think that "something else" might be.
Personally, when push came to shove I voted for a hoax, but that's because I think the slides represent a human body with a deformity that the Dream Team are purposefully representing as a dead alien despite knowing better, which to me ultimately makes it a hoax, in a "meta" sense. I look forward to hearing what you think.

I find it impossible to believe that the United States government, particularly the military, would obtain the corpse of an intelligent extraterrestrial life form and put it on display somewhere in a glass box under bright lights. Every cell of the corpse would be absolutely priceless. The potential for medical research, the weaponization of the biological material, and future discoveries as science progresses would dictate that the corpse be kept in an airtight vault and never exposed to light unnecessarily. Logic dictates that the slides can only be showing us a museum piece or a sideshow curiosity and not a "history changing" extraterrestrial biological sample. I don't see how anyone outside of religious fanatics or fantasists could think otherwise. Unfortunately, "ufology" is full of both as well unethical opportunists ready to take advantage of the faithful. I would have to agree that it is ultimately a hoax, since I do not think everyone involved in this latest fleecing of the flock believes the pitch. The thing that kills me is that after all this is said and done. After it becomes painfully obvious that the thing in the box is not an alien, "The Dream Team" will get a free pass and next year, or the year after next, the same type of nonsense will be going on. Or will that be an "Imbrogno" moment, as it probably should be, for some people?
I am too lazy to rewrite a comment I just posted on Rich’s blog and it came from A NASA scientist who was bemoaning the rudderless course that the space program was in at the time as well as the paucity of funding as one hand was washing the other...going nowhere. He was asked about the possibility of evidence for extraterrestrial life His response could be compared to the mindset behind this ghoulish circus. He said he deeply wanted it to be true as ( in the context of NASA’s issues) it would open up a floodgate of funding and provide the motivation to explore deeper and further, a underwriting of purpose. He said that he was very aware by the very nature he wanted it to be true, any proof must be rigorous, nearly infallible as he could easily mislead himself off a cliff if his own desires took precedent over tangibility. And what do we have here? There seems to be an astonishing level of:
1.Lack of self skepticism of desire
2. Any modicum of self awareness that the evidence is not evidence of anything but a will harnessed to belief based on desire.
A sort of gourmet meal of gummy bears.
Trained Observer,
Your comment is right on the mark. One of the biggest flaws in the logic of the Roswellists is that they believe it's the greatest secret of all time (classified "two points higher than than H-Bomb"), while at the same time they believe the government would allow witnesses to blab to UFO researchers years later, and for people to take and keep photos of the dead aliens way back when - dead aliens that, as you point out, would have been placed under the strictest quarantine and scientific protocols had they actually existed. The cognitive dissonance at work is breathtaking.
Who among the Dream Team really believes the slides represent an alien? Bragalia does, I think. He's just that crazy. That makes him the least egregious. I know for a fact that Randle does not, because he is well aware of the problems with all of this and has been for a couple of years now, but he continues to treat it all with a faux objectivity wherein he pretends that he's just an interested observer. He's as bad as any of them, because he facilitates their silliness knowing that it's silliness. But it's Schmitt, a proven liar, and Carey, who has aided and abetted Schmitt for years now, that are the worse. Does anyone truly believe that they think this is real? I don't - not for a second. Finally, of the latest Dream Team member, Jaime Maussan, one can only shake one's head and laugh. The man is a complete fraud, but he's also a successful one. You have to loath him and admire him at the same time.

excuse the double post, please(g)
I vote for "hoax in meta-sense".
You said the "slides" were out. Where are the other ones?
There are only two slides that purport to show an "alien" - this is one of them. I think it's safe to say that we know what the other one will look like, i.e. it will look like this one (as there is no indication that the second slide shows a different "being" than this one). Ergo, the slides are "out".

...seems as if RRRGroup has a vested interest in defending 'Adam Dew' and 'The Dream Team'?
"Pressing Adam Dew for proof of a college degree is off the mark and ridiculous.
His work is what counts not what schooling he’s had or hasn’t had.
Examine his output, and criticize that if you must."

Gee, why would Reynolds do that?
I disagree with Reynolds for the following reasons - there is a possibility that the slides are a hoax, and if they are then Dew would be a prime suspect. Further, a key member of the team - Donald Schmitt - has a well known history of lying about his background. Finally, the presenter that has been engaged, Jaime Maussan, has a long history of promoting and working with known frauds (Jonathan Reed, for example). Under those circumstances, where credibility is a key part of all of this, then it isn't wrong to ask Dew to provide proof of the credentials he claims to have, which should take him all of 5 minutes to do, and which wouldn't require him posting his actual degree. Once he provides this proof, matter solved. I'm sure he has one... I mean, who would be dumb enough to lie about something like that these days. So it's a simple matter for him to settle it, and then discussion can move back to the slides.

Oh, look! A chance to use my bilingual skills ;)
The theory that the body showed in the slide is part of the 'momias de Guanajuato' is very interesting. Right now I'm trying to learn more about the mummies and the museum, and it bears pointing out that back in the 40's the mummies were not exhibited behind a glass protection; they were simple stood against the two walls in the gallery, and the visitor would walk among them through a very narrow corridor --how this became such a popular attraction is beyond me...
Now, it's possible that, if this is indeed one of the mummies, that due to its small size it was exhibited in another part of the museum, or maybe it had recently been found --the mummies were exhumed between 1865 and 1958.
Mind you, I'm not pointing this out as a defense for the legitimacy of the slides. Like you, I'm very skeptical of their authenticity --or even their usefulness in the odd chance they were legitimate. But, we should show the same level of skepticism toward the debunking theories, shouldn't we? ;)
Believe me, no one would be more frustrated than me if this fiasco had such a pedestrian explanation --after all, I already bought the tickets to Maussan 3-ring circus next May! >____<
Is a pity that Jaime (Maussan) have had to arrive to this circus.I defend him along the years as been my friend and guidance when researching the Mexican's flap during the early nineties, and this bringing me to establish his first tv american/english apperance in 'Unsolved Myseries".But seen his "Mistico e Inexplicable" and now this I m dissapointed. Is a case of another opportunity to cash and run after the hype of another fiasco.Doesnt mean the Roswell film exists,as was show in Fort Monmouth,NJ ,as personally researched, but without find too much trace. Is a pity that so many selftitled researchd and tv talking heads help to crank this sempiternal crash....

we should show the same level of skepticism toward the debunking theories, shouldn't we?
No, we shouldn't. There isn't an equivalence here, RPJ. Those who assert that the slides are alien, or even something anomalous, have the burden of proof. Those who assert it is something else are really just speculating, but that doesn't mean that the burden is off the slides-as-aliens proponents.
It's like this: if the slides are an ET, then it's a story. The proponents have to prove that. They have failed miserably.
If it isn't (and it's not), then who cares what it is, because there is no story.

Oh, Loki... I'm not a fan of Trailer Park Boys (although I did go to law school with one of the producers), but even so, I would never denigrate an iconic Canadian television show by comparing it in any way to the circus that is the Roswell slides show. Shame on you! ;-)

@ Paul,
I understand your point. I guess I was thinking about what heppened when someone claimed that he had hoaxed the famous 'Belgian triangle' UFO photo that has been shown in many documentaries and books, including Leslie Kean's. Every skeptic bought into the story without bothering to confirm it. Why? Because it's easy to latch on to the most asinine explanation that aligns with your BS (Belief System).
Mind you, I'm not in any way equating the 'Roswell slides' with the Belgian photo, other than providing an example ;)
I tweeted to Maussan "Even if the slides do show a biological organism, how could its supposed ET origin be confirmed through a pohotograph?". I received no answer.
> how could its supposed ET origin be confirmed through a photograph?
This is an excellent point lost on most UFO proponents. Photographs are not physical evidence. They do contain information, but they are not an adequate substitute for the item itself.
I do not know for certain, but I do suspect, that decades of accepting photographic evidence of supposed alien craft at face value has made UFO fandom vulnerable to hoaxes.
I am heartened that UFO believers and buffs (though not the broader fandom) have been generally skeptical of the Roswell slides. It shows that, at some level, we all share a respect for facts; we all have a limited tolerance for BS.
If the slides turn out to be a hoax, I hope believers reflect on this when discussing photo cases such as McMinnville and Rex Heflin, going forward. (Man, do they ever look fake!)
The Roswell slides are NOT out now. The Pic is a taken from the trailer - where it is shown a few frames on a pc-monitor, distorted in the background. So i say: lets wait til it IS out on May 5.
