I count Nick Redfern as a friend, but if he wrote a lousy book I'd savage it regardless. Fortunately, he's not in the habit of writing lousy books. Indeed, his latest, Three Men Seeking Monsters: Six Weeks in Pursuit of Werwolves, Lake Monsters, Giant Cats, Ghostly Devil Dogs, and Ape-Men, is an absolute hoot, a modern Odyssey of sorts - if the Odyssey were to be undertaken by, oh, say, a strange hybrid of the Scooby Squad and the Sex Pistols. It is the story of six weeks of detective work combined with debauchery, as Redfern and his pals Jonathan Downes (who gave the best presentation at the 2003 Crash Retrieval Conference, by far) and Richard Freeman troupe around the United Kingdom hunting monsters - sort of.
A must read!
