However, much of science these days, as always, is driven by political and financial considerations, so this seems appropriate.

PaulPaul Kimballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08804735930733797952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10903320.post-1142221056031840812006-03-12T23:37:00.000-04:002006-03-12T23:37:00.000-04:00DM:Thanks. In a private e-mail, this person writes:

"There are, contrary to McCarthy, the naive Type 0 scientists who naively believe that science is a meritocracy and that they need do nothing but do their research and its merits will become known to all without having to do any politicking. I have met many such scientists so I know they exist."

So, perhaps a Type O scientist needs to be added to the mix.

PaulPaul Kimballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08804735930733797952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10903320.post-1142214773339828012006-03-12T21:52:00.000-04:002006-03-12T21:52:00.000-04:00Good article!Good article!Don Maorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09501920515893210306noreply@blogger.com
