Kimball and Dolan - American fascism & The Society of the Spectacle
This is an excerpt from the 25 July, 2010 episode of The Paracast where fellow co-host Nick Redfern and I joined Gene Steinberg to interview author and historian Rich Dolan. In these two clips, Rich and I discuss whether the “national security state” that he writes about in UFOs and the National Security State, Vols. 1 and 2, is a symbol of a growing fascist state in the United States; we then discuss some Marxist theory as we look at Guy Debord’s The Society of the Spectacle, and how it is more relevant to our society than ever.

Memories of Mac
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about Mac Tonnies, who died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 34 last October. Mac was one of my best friends, and I miss him a great deal. Last November, Nick Redfern and I joined Greg Bishop on Greg’s Radio Misterioso radio show to remember our friend. Here is an excerpt that I enjoy, and that captures the essence of how we all felt about Mac. At the end, instead of the usual Other Side of Truth theme music (from Space: 1999), I’ve added a version of one of our favourite songs, the Smiths “There is a Light That Never Goes Out,” by the Vitamin String Quartet.
To hear the full episode, go to Radio Misterioso.

Holly Stevens and Ghost Cases on A & E Biography
Episode 7, part 4 of the A & E Biography series My Ghost Story, about the Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrew's, New Brunswick, features my Ghost Cases co-host Holly Stevens and footage from the second episode of our series. You can view the A & E segment here.
I wish the producers had spent more time placing the incident in context, but that's American television for you - a lot of flash, and a lot of quick edits and special effects, sometimes at the expense of the story itself. Still, the segment is well done, Holly did a great job, and the footage remains compelling.
To get the fuller and much more interesting story, watch the original Ghost Cases episode on Eastlink TV, or check out my Paracast interview segment at The Other Side of Truth podcast, where I discuss the case (listen to it here).

Rich Dolan on the Paracast - July 25, 2010
My friend Rich Dolan, author of UFOs and the National Security State, Vols. 1 and 2, is the guest this Sunday evening on The Paracast, with Gene Steinberg, Nick Redfern and yours truly hosting. We recorded the interview last night, and had a wide-ranging conversation covering UFOs, artificial intelligence, politics, history, the national security state, and a little bit of baseball, as I recall (Rich being a Yankees fan, me being a member of Red Sox Nation).
The episode airs on GCN from 7 pm to 10 pm EST, and can be listened to or downloaded afterwards at The Paracast.
This will be the second-to-last episode of the Paracast that I co-host. I was just a temporary part of the Paracast picture, helping Gene out after his previous co-host abruptly quit on him, and now that Gene has found his way to radio and has some other great co-hosts, I'm stepping away and focusing on other things, mission accomplished. From now on I'll just be a listener to the show, which is the best of its kind out there, and a possible future guest, if and when I have something new to discuss.
UFOs and the National Security State, Vol. II is a book that I think is well worth reading for a lot of reasons. You can read my review here.

Dark Matters Radio, 29 June 2010
A couple of days ago, on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, I returned for a 2 hour appearance on Dark Matters Radio, hosted by the one and only Don Ecker. Don and I covered a lot of ground, and in this episode of The Other Side of Truth I’ve excerpted the two parts that I found the most interesting. In the first, I discuss why I think the discovery of who we are as indivduals is the really important journey to be had in paranormal research. In the second, Don asks me to describe one of the strangest experiences Holly Stevens and I had while filming Ghost Cases in 2009.
To hear the entire episode, and all of the other great episodes Don has done since his return earlier this year to live radio, check out the Dark Matters Radio archives.

Why the ETH is the best of the paranormal UFO theories
An excerpt from my introductory segment on a recent episode of the Paracast, where Gene Steinberg and I interviewed Stan Friedman and Kathy Marden about their new book, Science Was Wrong, and wherein I explain why I think that the extraterrestrial hypothesis is the most likely of all the possible non-terrestrial / human explanations for the UFO phenomenon - even as I stress that it is just an hypothesis at this stage.
